NEXUS Literary
Arts Magazine

PRINT DESIGN | Type Studies
The task was to create spreads for a literary arts magazine called "Nexus" where students submit their literary works, including poems, short stories, art, and photography. As part of the project, students were tasked with designing a custom typeface for the magazine titles and headers in the spreads. The magazine was restricted to a black and white color palette, with only two spreads (four pages) designated for color.

When I envision literary arts magazines, I associate them with paper and pen. To capture an ink-like sensation while retaining a paper-like quality, I combined an ink writing style with a cut-out letter effect.
